Heavy Medal goes USA

Heavy Medal Stamp

More than 2 years ago the planning started for an event that will get 28 BinG! singers to the USA, to Nashville Tennessee. Thanks to the invitation from the Barbershop Harmony Society and a lot of restless helping hands the medalist chorus of BinG! "Heavy Medal" will go on a 10 day trip to represent not only BinG! but also mixed barbershop in the motherland of barbershop.

The trip starts with a performance at the send-off party of the Alexandria Harmonizers near Washington D.C. followed by a lot of rehearsals and little performances in the area. The chorus directed by Norbert Hammes will then spend 7 days in Nashville (4th-10th July) at the International convention of the BHS: "We are proud to represent BinG! at this big international event mainly because mixed barbershop plays a little role in the US. To perform and to show the audience and the barbershop community in which high quality a mixed chorus can perform is our mission. We can do this as Mike cooler and on the Saturday Night Spectacular show but also in the two Harmony University classes we are hosting. There we can show how we rehearse and what needs to be considered with mixed barbershop."
Additionally BinG! is represented at the International Quartet contest by a Heavy Medal Quartet "Take Four". The 4 guys from Nothern Germany will be singing as contestant 51 on 6th July. It is their 30 year anniversary. They will be also performing the German National anthem.
The trip is supported by donations and by the fiancial support of the Goethe Institute.
